Herbicide Resistance

Herbiced resistance detection is based on determining dead plants and healthy plants after a herbiced has been applied to the plot. This data is of importance in introgression trials of RR Gene. The process renders the percentage of dead plantas for each plot and can be used to determine segregating variaties and to assert which plants have received the donor gene.

Canopy Cover

Canopy cover is based on the classification of pixels into plant or soil. The persentage plant area detected is then calculated to render a canopy cover persentage for each plot. This data is used for determining how long it takes a genotype to reach full soil cover, or to normalize yield in yield comparative trials.

Plant Spacing

Detección de cantidad de plantas muertas o tejidos necrosos. Desarrollada para ensayos de introgresión en variedades del Gen RR. Luego de la aplicación de herbicidas sistémicos o de contacto, se detectan las plantas muertas a causa del tratamiento mediante imágenes aéreas . Como resultado se obtiene el porsentaje de plantas afectadas utilizado para determinar variedades segregantes y el porcentaje de plantas que recibieron el gen resistente.

NDVI

NDVI is a widely used vegetation index that correlataes well with leaf area values and plant vigour. This index can be applied through a wide range of crop growth stages and is of special interest when used through critical growth stages.

Temperature

Plant temperature is of importance for temperature or drought stress trials. A thermal camera is used to obtain thermal imagery. Average temperature of plots, plant temperature or leaf temperature can be obtained.

Maturation Date

Assesment of genotype maturation date and classification into maturity group rating. Genotype maturation process is characterized through a series of flights. The initial flight is done when the first plots beggin the maturation process, followed by regular flights until the last plots reach full maturity.

Lodging

Characterization of genotype resistance to plant lodging. One or multiple flights are performed to create three dimentional maps of canopy surface. Depressions in plot surface are detected and used to determine insidence and severity of wind generated damage.

Disease

Detects disease provoking yellowing of the top canopy leaves. Plots presenting disease simptoms visible on the upper canopy layers are detected. The incidence and severity is determined for each variety.

Evaluation of plot height.
